A local volunteer-run rescue service has taken to crowdfunding, looking to raise enough money to replace one of its rescue boats, which has been in use since the early seventies.
The Wagga Rescue Squad, which is accustomed to coming to the aid of the community during floods, storms, after car accidents and other emergencies, has launched a GoFundMe page.
The squad, which receives only $3600 in funding from the state government each year, is aiming to raise $25,000 for the boat.
