Rice Symposium Brings Experts to Wagga
Research Projects Focus on Quality
The quality of rice from paddock to plate will be the main topic of discussion at a research symposium being hosted in Wagga today, at CSU’s National Wine and Grape Industry Centre.
The Australian Rice Quality Symposium will bring together stakeholders including growers, processors and scientists, to highlight current projects to improve rice quality.
They include examining the potential health benefits of coloured rice, the digestability of stored rice, measuring the glycaemic index, and how what happens on farm can impact on the quality of the grains.
