Our region may have been spared the worst of the flooding and thunderstorm activity over the weekend, but the Riverina still recorded enough rainfall to keep local SES crews busy, they responded to more than 115 calls for help during Saturday.

The Tumut and Murrumbidgee Rivers remained below the minor flood levels, though water did inundate a number of low lying areas, while in Wagga, Jubilee Oval resembled a lake.

The weather meant the annual Wagga Toy run couldn’t go ahead, and also meant there was no action on the track at the MTC, for Saturday’s Christmas Party Race Meeting.
