Riverina's Driest June on Record

Forecasters Tip More Dry Weather to Come

The Riverina region has seen its driest June on record, with the district-wide average rainfall for the month just 2.77 millimetres.

It was a dry month for the rest of the state as well, the driest June in NSW since 2002, and the Murray Darling Basin had its driest June since 1986.

Rob Sharpe from Weatherzone says it doesn’t look like July will be much different, with no strong indications of any significant rainfall for NSW so far, the long range forecast for the remainder of winter and the start of spring is also tipping the likelihood of drier than normal conditions.
