Seasonal Conditions Dry For Riverina

Follow Up Rain Needed

The Riverina largely missed out on the above-average rainfall received across many other parts of the state in March, and our hot and dry conditions have had an impact on pasture growth.

That’s according to the latest seasonal conditions report from the Department of Primary Industries, with co-ordinator Ian McGowen saying good autumn and winter growth will depend on warmer conditions and follow-up rainfall in many areas.

Mr McGowen says early sown crops, including canola and dual-purpose cereals are doing well, but follow-up rainfall will be necessary soon, especially in areas of Southern NSW.
