Serious charges laid against a 25 year old man after Ashmont incident

A 25 year old man has been charged with take a person with intent to commit a serious indictable offence in company, and aggravated assault with intent to take a motor vehicle in company.

It comes after a standoff situation in Tarakan Avenue in Ashmont on Friday, four people were inside a house there for a large part of the day, eventually surrendering to police at around 7pm.

No-one was injured.

The 25 year old man was remanded in custody after his arrest, inquiries are continuing under Strike Force Edgecliffe.
