The Mayor of Temora Shire, Rick Firman, has expressed his disappointment at news the ANZ bank will be closing its Temora branch on May 16.

Cr Firman says while he was notified by email, he's been contacted by several businesses and customers, who are angry that they weren't told, and had to read about on Council's Facebook page.

He says he finds it interesting to note, ANZ Bank’s Full year ended cash profit (to 30 September 2017) was $6.9 Billion, and it could be interpreted by some that profit seems to come before people.

Three staff members will be affected by the closure.

Temora will still have a strong banking presence, with Westpac, the Commonwealth Bank, NAB and the South West Slopes Credit Union remaining in town.
