Wagga Rural Referral Hospital has been recognised for its contribution to the NSW bone bank, reaching a donation milestone of 100 femoral heads.

Femoral heads are the bones retrieved during hip replacement surgery, and Wagga's hospital is one of 21 in NSW, that donates them to the NSW Tissue Bank's Bone Bank program.

The donations are used in orthopedic surgery, which can significantly reduce the healing time for patients.
