Wild Dog Alert system a 'game-changer'
Currently in development
The NSW Department of Primary Industries says a new Wild Dog Alert system currently in development will be a game-changer in helping to protect livestock, with the use of ground-breaking technology.
Invasive Species Officer, Paul Meek says it's the product of the combined efforts of industry, farmers, scientists and government, and can send real-time messages about the presence of wild dogs directly to producers and land managers.
Dr Meek says they're currently testing the components to ensure the device is robust and fit-for-purpose, and expect to have a working prototype system by June next year.
