A large-scale Australian feature film is being shot in the Southwest, including in Bunbury, Dardanup and Australind.
The Naked Wanderer stars Aussie actor Angus Young (Packed to the Rafters), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Detective Chinatown 2) and British comedy legend John Cleese, who shot his scenes overseas.
Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan is excited about Bunbury being showcased on the global film stage.
“It’s an honour having being chosen as one of the main locations for this film and now the rest of the world can see Bunbury for the paradise it truly is,” Mayor Brennan said.
“The film will have enormous economic benefits for Bunbury and the Bunbury Geographe region – from accommodation for the 50-odd crew who are currently in town to the potential tourism boost to the region once the film is released to a world-wide audience.”
Filming has taken place along Ocean Drive in Bunbury and at the main administration building. The crew will wrap up filming in Bunbury after 11 days, then move on to other parts of the Southwest.
The Naked Wanderer is scheduled to hit Australian cinemas in early 2019, with the possibility of a global release.
