What was once the “Griffin Festival” is now Festiv ARTY – a fun, quirky and unique name and branding, while celebrating the festival’s 27 year history of celebrating arts, culture and community in Collie.
This year, organisers expect the event to be bigger than ever entries already rolling in for a range of categories, including painting, mixed media, scrapbooking, photography, woodwork, ceramics, sculpture, mosaics and textiles, with special categories for youth arts, crafts, emerging artists and ‘out of town’ artists.
The workshop line-up includes ‘Making a bee hotel’ at the Collie Community Garden, watercolour and acrylic painting workshops at the Collie Art Gallery. The Collie Library undercroft will become a creative hub with workshops on creating ‘Dream Catchers’ and making a necklace from a recycled T-shirt. Artist Andrew Frazer will be holding a Street Art workshop for young people between 13 and 17, also at the library undercroft.
The Festival runs until 5pm Sunday 17 September, 2017
