New accessible change room facilities will be opened by the Mayor of Bunbury Gary Brennan at the South West Sports Centre to meet the demands of people who have accessibility requirements.
The new change rooms have been built in the aquatics area and will provide wet and dry change rooms, lockers and benches.
Mayor Gary Brennan said the facilities will make a big difference for people with disabilities to access the South West Sports Centre.
“The change rooms have a number of specific requirements including hoists, showers, adult and baby change tables, hand rails and bench seating.” Mr Brennan said.
“It’s a fantastic facility that will make the world of difference to a number of people who have accessibility issues and follows the City’s commitment to making Bunbury the most accessible regional City in Australia.”
The change rooms include sign identification with clear and legible text accompanied in Braille, duress alarm buttons in accordance with accessibility regulations along with 44 lockers with bench seating in the main entrance along with bench seating in the change rooms.
The official opening by the Mayor will be at the South West Sports Centre at 10:30am, next Tuesday 19th December.
