UPDATE: Missing South West Woman Found


The West Australian has reported that Heather Rae Ellis and her three dogs spent the night in bush scrub at Scott River, after being separated from her husband.

Temperatures dropped to 5 degrees overnight as more than 40 police, SES and rangers searched for Mrs Ellis.

She was found today by a news crew, after she heard the sound of cars.

Mrs Ellis was confused and suffering from dehydration, but in otherwise good physical health.



Missing woman Heather Ellis has now been located. She was taken to Nannup Hospital by St John Ambulance for a check-up.

Police wish to thank all the personnel who participated in the search.


Police, SES and local rangers are searching for 65 year old Heather Rae Ellis, who was last seen at around 11.30am yesterday (Sunday 8/10/17) in the Nannup region.

She was in the company of her 80 year old husband Maurice Ellis and their three Golden Retriever dogs, travelling in their Nissan X-Trail station sedan on Milyeannup Coast Rd, when they stopped to relax near Scott River.

Heather decided to take her dogs for a walk in the forest area whilst Maurice remained at the site taking pictures. However, Heather failed to return with her dogs and has not been seen since.

She is described as light-skinned, 170cm tall, of medium build, and has white hair.
