A whale carcass has been spotted off the coast of the south west prompting a shark warning.
The carcass was first spotted yesterday afternoon, while Surf Life Saving WA issued a tweet earlier this morning confirming the mass was still there.
It's not known when the carcass will be removed.
Authorities are hopeful it will decompose on its own, but that could lead to sharks feeding on it.
While it is out at sea, surfers and boaties are asked to stay away from the area.
