Mildura Rural City Council have announced a massive roll out of road safety works over the next 18 months.
The safety scheme will see Council introduce a range of measures across Mildura’s built up areas that will work to cut down on traffic incidents involving pedestrians and cyclists.
The Transport Accident Commission has provided funds for the scheme, with 2.26 million dollars provided under the Safe System Road Infrastructure Program.
The 3 million dollar program features measures that improve safety; including roundabouts, zebra crossings and timed 40 kilometres per hour zones on certain streets.
Locals will encounter changed traffic conditions during work.
