The Coalition Government is continuing to act against ice and other illicit drugs, with another round of the Local Drug Action Teams set to roll out across the country.
The initiative works to bring the community together to develop local plans and activities to prevent and reduce the harm caused by drugs and alcohol in their regions.
Applications are now open teams in our region, which could include representatives from local councils, schools, police, youth services, primary health services, community groups and non-government organisations.
Successful applicants will initially receive $10,000 to help develop a local action plan for the community, and possible further funding for future programs.
Mallee MP Andrew Broad says recognizing local issued and engaging local community members is vital to reducing the impacts drug and alcohol use have on our communities.
