Mildura to feature on Masterchef

World renowned chef Heston Blumenthal leads an array of celebrity chefs in two episodes of Masterchef, shot throughout the Swan Hill and Mildura, Wentworth regions.

The event will put the region's exceptional food, wine and local produce on display, with Murray Regional Tourism CEo Mark Francis saying the episode take views on a foodie adventure throughout the region.

Swan Hill's Pioneer settlement will be the focus of June 18th's episode, with Mildura Wentworth's episode focusing on the Murray River Salt's harvest site.


Mildura’s iconic landmarks will turn a shade of purple this week as Mildura Rural City Council raises awareness for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
The Carnegie Library, Rio Vista Historic House and the Grand Hotel will be lit purple to highlight the issue.
Mildura Rural City Councillor for Community Wellbeing and Services Ali Cupper says that per World Health Organisation statistics, or one in 10 older people experience abuse on a monthly basis.
Mildura City Council's Age and Disability Service Officer Linda McGlashan says the day is about promoting an issue that isn't often discussed.


The important role local men and businesses can play in promoting gender equality across Sunraysia is being highlighted in a new report.

The report looks at which measures are the most effective at engaging Australian men to bring about equality for women in the workplace.

Lisa Annese from the Diversity Council says it's important LOCAL MEN and business owners understand how gender equality can benefit everyone.

Our netballers are hitting the court to get ready for Round 9 of the Sunraysia Football and Netball League's A grade comp.

Mildura will go head to head with the Imperials on Saturday, with Red Cliffs facing off against Irymple.

Merbein will try to rise South Mildura, with Robinvale-Euston going up against Wentworth.
