A boost for mobile coverage.

Telco Giant Optus have announced a new $4m plan to boost mobile coverage across Sunraysia.

Nine locations across the region will see towers built as part of the multi-million dollar plan with greater mobile coverage extending to low range areas like Gol Gol and Nangiloc.

Altogether we'll be seeing construction right across Mildura with sites in Nichols Point, Karadoc, Cardross, Gol Gol, Buronga, Dareton and at the airport.

The Telco giant say that they've listened to customer feedback and know how important it is to boost coverage for regional areas.

Majority of the work will be done in the next 3 to 6 months with Optus saying we'll be seeing faster internet speeds and more service by mid-2017.


Two youths have been arrested in Shepparton following a crime spree across Mildura.

Police allege the two young males targeted 5 Mildura premises on the 16th and 17th of March getting away with cash, wallets, electronics and vehicles.

The spree started at a property on Bridge Way in Mildura and ended up in Irymple. The pair fleeing the scene in a stolen white Ford Sedan.

On the 17th that same car was spotted by Police in Shepparton who then arrested the youths recovering a large number of stolen items.

Both males were charged and will face the Children's Court in May.


The Melbourne Cup trophy will once again make its way through Australasia later this year in the lead up to the day that stops a nation with a chance for towns in Sunraysia to host it.

Tour Manager and Keeper of the Cup, Joe McGrath, says that if community, school, or, racing bodies are keen on hosting the Australian icon it's best to get the local council onside.


A young baseballer has been selected to represent Sunraysia in the Victoria Kookaburra's Under 14 side on their junior tour of America.

At just 13 years old, Coby Mitchell will have the chance to play in the US, visiting baseball colleges, and watch his favourite Major League teams live. 

He's the only indigenous player in the entire 26 player squad and has been playing for the Mildura Hawks since early Primary School days. He'll head off on the tour of a lifetime in July.
