Magistrates’ Court ruling handed down.

The Mildura Magistrates’ Court has ruled alleged outlaw motorcycle gang member, Brandon Osborn, will stand trial accused of killing his partner Karen Belej last year.

The committal hearing this week deciding there was sufficient evidence to support a conviction for murder.

Osborn has pleaded not guilty to her murder. In his order of events he told Police the gun went off when they both reached for it; however a forensic expert has said the that autopsy revealed Ms Belej was likely shot at close range within millimetres of her forehead.

Police say when they arrived on the scene last may Osborn was covered head to toe in blood.

The case will go before Melbourne Supreme Court for a directions hearing next week.


Robinvale Police are investigating after thieves targeted properties in the area last week, getting away with personal items and cash.

Between the dates of February 18 and March 22, four properties were robbed as occupants either slept, or, in one case were in the lounge room during the robbery.

Among the stolen items was a vehicle taken from a residence in Ronald St.

Police are looking into whether last week’s robberies are linked to the two young men that were arrested after a Mildura Crime Spree.


Anyone living in the Wentworth Shire Council area who served in the Vietnam War is being asked to come forward so that the community can celebrate them on a planned monument.

The local RSL are searching for all the names of the men and women who served to ensure they don't miss out on someone deserving of recognition.

They are hoping to get the monument up soon. Anyone who knows a Vietnam War veteran is asked to call 5021 0114.


The Sunraysia Cricket Association 1st Division Grand Final will see Mildura West and Mildura Settlers go head to head over the weekend in order to claim the 2016/17 premiership.

Both clubs are brimming with talent. Jason Morrison and Mark Cleary are expected to lead the way for Setts, while the minor premiers will look toward spin twins Ben Waring and Chris Williams to make decisive inroads.

Settlers are going for their third consecutive title while West haven't played in a Grand Final since 2008.
