The third annual Victoria Against Violence campaign has kicked off around the state with region's residents urged to don the colour orange to highlight their support.
The 3 week campaign was kicked off in Melbourne by the Walk Against Family Violence to raise awareness of family violence and gender inequality.
It's all to raise awareness for family violence with 1 in 4 women still suffering physical or mental abuse at home as well as promoting gender equality to help change attitudes.
Officials are asking all residents to identify and challenge behaviors which lead to violence.
Acting Minister for Women Jill Hennessy says all regions residents should get behind the cause.
