A report will be prepared for the Coroner, after the driver of a truck involved in a crash on the Sturt Highway last week died in hospital.
At 3.45 am last Wednesday, the 32 year old Mildura man was driving west-bound at Darlington Point in a b-double; when it collided with another truck travelling in the opposite direction.
The local driver was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition.
He passed away in hospital the following day.
The driver of the second truck, a 29 year old man, wasn’t injured during the incident.
He has been taken to Griffith Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
Murrumbidgee District Police are now investigating the circumstances behind the head on collision.
Witnesses to the incident are being encouraged to report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
