Two major roads shut down yesterday, Mildura Police rushing to both incidents.
Two trucks have collided head-on on the Sturt Highway, officers closing the stretch on both sides.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at the intersection of Oday Road at around 10.25 am yesterday morning.
The two drivers were sent to Mildura for medical treatment, one then flown to Melbourne with life threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the collision.
A driver has escaped injury, after his truck reportedly caught fire on Millewa Road in Pirlta.
The truck was carrying a load of hay, officers believe the incident occurred at around 3.30 pm yesterday afternoon.
The road was closed in both directions as emergency crews worked to extinguish the blaze.
The fire is not being treated as suspicious
Police have since reopened both roads.
