Mildura Rural City Council has determined the steps it intends to take to secure funding for the Mildura Future Ready program.
The announcement follows the successful unveiling of the Mildura Motorsports and Community Precinct project at an event in Melbourne.
Council members were joined by the Minister for Regional Development Jaala Pulford, potential private investors and key State Government Staff, and big names in Motorsports; including locals Josh and Cameron Waters.
Council will looking to establish provides a funding strategy and financial options to support an application for 10 million in the current round of Federal Government Building Better Regions funding.
Those funds will help kick start work on the Motorsports precinct.
The precinct just one part of the Future Ready program, which is hoped to generate 1000 jobs and $400 million in economic benefit over the next 3 to 5 years.
The program includes Stage 2 of the Mildura Riverfront Redevelopment, establishing the Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct, Mildura Motorsports and Community Precinct, and the return of Mildura's passenger train.
