Dareton Highway Patrol have arrested a motorist, after an alleged pursuit on the Sturt Highway.
Officers will allege they detected a grey Holden Commodore travelling at a speed higher than the posted; the vehicle reportedly sped off from Police when officers activated warning lights.
The Commodore reportedly continued at speed towards Mildura, but high traffic on the George Chaffey Bridge allegedly forced the Commodore to pull over.
The driver got out of the car and surrendered to Police.
At the time of the arrest, officers will allege the man was reportedly found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis.
Police took him to Wentworth hospital for blood and urine tests.
The motorist allegedly refused to submit, reportedly becoming violent with Police.
He has been charged with resist police officer in the execution of duty, possess prohibited drugs, refusing to submit to a blood sample and engaging in a pursuit.
He has been bailed to appear at the Wentworth Court next month.
