Environmental Protection Authority has issued an order for ReNu Waste to cut back on a stockpile of waste tyres at it's Mildura Premises.
EPA officers conducting a routine inspection found the company had exceeded the permitted amount of tyres in it's stockpile.
The company is researching tyre recycling; with inspectors investigators estimating ReNu Waste was storing more than twice the State's Policy limit at their Benetook Avenue site.
The company has been issued with $7929 in fines and a Clean Up Notice.
Officials say stockpiles of stored tyres represent several hazards; there are clear regulations for their safe storage.
