A familiar sight has been spotted in Sydney this week, with a 25-year-old Tooheys Lite billboard uncovered at a building on Parramatta Road.
The old ad was picked up by Reddit user Boombox-1, who posted a photo of the new addition on the r/Sydney thread.
Remarkably, another Reddit user then unearthed a YouTube video of a bloke driving down Parramatta Road on Friday December 27, 1991, which shows the exact same billboard, albeit a little fresher looking and with a working clock.
While the building is now a Kennards Self Storage - and bright orange - it was once Miller's Brewery, a medium-scale Sydney operation that also managed a number of hotels around the city.
According to Scratching Sydney's Surface, Miller's first began brewing beer in 1951 and was bought by Tooheys in 1967; Tooheys shut it down eight years later, although some of the brewery buildings still stand.
A spokesman from Kennards told 104.9 Triple M that the billboard is actually a permanent fixture, with newer, paid-for ads posted on top.
And when it comes time for those ads to be swapped out? The old Tooheys Lite poster makes an appearance and gives Sydney a little trip down memory lane.
