A 60-year-old man has been taken to Royal North Shore Hospital after an extreme fall at Marsfield this morning.
It is understood that the man fell six metres from a ladder on a tree.
"The patient was treated at the scene for serious head injuries before being transported to hospital by road ambulance with a Careflight medical team on board," Inspector Scott Miles said.
In the last 12 months, NSW Ambulance paramedics have attended 712 cases of people falling from ladders, trees and roofs at home.
Most of these people were reportedly aged 60 to 69 years.
North Sydney had the highest number of incidents with 81 recorded.
