A father has been arrested for allegedly leaving his young son in a car and another unsupervised at home during yesterday's record heatwave whilst he was at the pub.
The 43-year-old Yagoona man entered the Hume Hotel during the mid-afternoon yesterday at the peak of the NSW heat.
The child become distressed with Police called to the scene having to force their way into the car.
The father was the arrested and charged with leaving a child in a motor vehicle causing distress, neglecting a child in his care and resisting arrest.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before the local courts today.
Both children were taken to Bansktown hospital for further assessment and monitoring.
