There are extreme weather warnings in place today with NSW set to swelter - again.
It's the third consecutive day of temperatures over 40C , and fire crews are on high alert with strong winds up to 50km/hour expected throughout the day.
NSW Police are urging people to be sensible in the heat, and look after those who are vulnerable.
People are also reminded not to leave the elderly, disable or young children in hot cars.
A total fire ban was declared in the Southern Ranges, Central Ranges, Greater Hunter and North Western regions, with this continuing for the Southern Ranges, Central Ranges, Great Hunter and Greater Sydney.
