There's Some Major Changes To The Sydney Harbour Bridge Traffic 7 News

There was a bit of chaos in the Sydney Harbour Bridge this morning following major changes to the southern end of the bridge.

The upgrade has seen 14 toll booths removed, and a reconfiguration of the York Street and Grovesnor Street intersection.

“As with all significant changes, it may take some time for motorists to get used to the new lane alignment so people should allow extra travel time and take care as they drive on the newly upgraded road,” NSW Roads Minister Melinda Pavey said.

The changes will mostly affect southbound traffic.

Drivers heading to the Western Distributor are required to use the left lanes, while the right lanes will go to Grovesnor or York Streets in the city's north.

A dedicated bus lane into the city will also be included, aiding buses on a run to Wynyard.

After the first morning of the new routes, it appeared as though the biggest impact was felt by city-bound buses.
