A Sydney man has been arrested and charged for allegedly attacking his neighbour with a sword in the city’s south-west overnight.
Authorities were called to Ascot Street at Canley Heights just after 10pm following reports of an altercation between two men.
Police say a 32-year-old man grabbed a sword from his vehicle before allegedly attacking a 58-year-old victim, believed to be the attacker’s neighbour.
NSW Paramedics treated the older man at the scene for a superficial laceration to his leg, while the younger male was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
The man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.
