NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has proclaimed that the state government will intervene if the City of Sydney council does not take action over the homeless settlement in the CBD.
The 'tent city' is currently settled in Martin Place, with squatters threatening to relocate somewhere nearby if they are forced to leave their current set-up.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore has previously said that she wouldn't move the homeless "without certainty they have support and permanent homes to go to".
Community and Family Services are understood to have found 70 people housing after 44 visits to the camp.
The council will meet tonight.
