NSW To Spend $6 Million On Medicinal Cannabis Advisory Service

A Medicinal Cannabis Advisory Service is set to be developed in New South Wales to assist doctors and their education on medicinal cannabis.

This service will be run out of Hunter New England Health, with a hotline set up for doctors to use for information and guidance about the prescription of medicinal cannabis.

There will also be funding for research.

"Doctors want more support about whether to prescribe medicinal cannabis, what specific product to prescribe and how best to prescribe it," NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard said.

This change will mean that processes for medicinal cannabis will be sped up, with products becoming available faster.
