Passenger Gets Back On Burning Bus To Tap Off Opal Card

Reports have surfaced regarding a bus fire in September last year which show that one conscientious passenger jumped back on a burning bus to ensure he got the correct fare.

smh.com.au has reported that the incident occurred on the Harbour Bridge, and the blaze was so ferocious that the road surface needed to be repaired.

Yet for one bloke, the primary concern was that he wasn't charged the highest daily fare as punishment for not tapping off his Opal card when alighting the bus.

Apparently the Opal reader only registers taps when the bus is at a stop, so it's unlikely according to experts that this escapade was done in vain.
