Police Investigate How Bathurst Man Escaped From Custody

NSW Police inquiries are continuing after a man escaped from custody at Miranda overnight.

About 8.30pm last night, police attended Kitchener Place, Caringbah in response to a break and enter occurring.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Bathurst man following a short struggle and he was taken to Miranda Police Station to assist with inquiries into a matter.

While at the police station the man escaped from the police station, with a search of the area unable to locate the man.

Kyran Hubert John Naden is described as being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander appearance, 177cm tall, of thin build with brown hair and eyes.

When he was last seen the man was wearing a dark green tracksuit top and faded blue jeans.

An internal investigation is being conducted into the events leading up to the man's escape.
