Shocking news out of Randwick overnight, with several people attacked in what has been labelled a racially motivated incident.
A 25-year-old man went on a rampage just after 9.45pm last night, making his way along Avoca Street where he punched a woman in the face, before attacking a group of people.
He then moved alone Belmore Road, where he punched and kicked several more people.
Police allege that the assaults were bias crime-related, with the man targeting victims of an Asian background.
According to police, several people have bene injured, three grievously.
Of those injured were a 70-year-old man, who sustained a suspected broken nose and eye socket, and 26-year-old woman who was punched in the face and kicked several times in the body, which has caused bruising and swelling.
The man has been taken to Maroubra Police Station and charged with three counts of reckless grievous bodily harm, and four counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He will appear at Waverley Local Court today, and investigations are ongoing.
