Sydney's short ray of sunshine is set to disappear on Saturday afternoon with storms forecast for the city.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, severe thunderstorms are likely for large sections of NSW including Sydney.
"It is possible these storms could impact on several major events in the city, including the Invictus Games Opening Ceremony at the Opera House and the X Games at Homebush," Bureau of Meteorology NSW/ACT Manager of Weather Services, Jake Phillips said in a statement.
It's likely Sunday will see the thunderstorm move to the state’s north-east.
Earlier in the week, there was flash flooding across parts of Sydney, with social media showing a lot of water at Strathfield station.
