Typical hours for school zones are 8-9.30am and 2.30-4pm, however it is advised to stick to the rules on signs in the area.

It is likely that there will also be more cyclists around, with some children riding to school.
Police are reminding driver to observe the change in speed, with data from the Department of Transport showing that over 60 children under 17 years were injured from 2015 - 2017 after being hit by a car in a school zone.
This comes as a whopping 1500 school zone offence fines were issued in 2017 in the Canterbury-Bankstown area.
For parents with children making their way to and from school in the coming days, it is important to make sure that your own drop-off and pick-up points are in a safe area.
Children should also use the car door on the side closest to the footpath when exiting the vehicle.
School zones for term one are in place from Monday, January 29 to Friday, April 13.
