An urgent callout has been made by NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) in an attempt to identify the family connected to an unnamed memorial located on the M4.
With current roadworks underway, the memorial by the Erskine Park Rd off-ramp needs to be moved, the Mt Druitt Standard reports.
“RMS and NSW Police have been unable to find a contact for the family for the memorial,” an RMS spokeswoman said.
“So will follow its roadside tributes policy and remove and store the memorial while work is carried out.”
The tribute features a gold cross necklace and a green striped football jumper which have been draped over a blue cross.
“Roadside tributes are placed around the NSW road network to acknowledge the death of a person who may have been involved in a crash and are recognised as an important part of the grieving process,” the spokesperson added.
The RMS is urging anyone who may know the family linked to the memorial to come forward.
