Several People Have Been Injured Following A Train Crash In Western Sydney

Horrible news this morning coming out of Richmond, as we learn that several people have been injured due to a train crash.

The train has hit barricades with several people injured at this stage.

Rescue helicopters are en-route, with eight fire trucks at the scene, along with numerous ambulances.

Fire and Rescue NSW are stating that it’s a major incident, with several people trapped and others injured.

According to NSW Ambulance, 10 patients are being assessed for minor injuries and two patients for more severe injuries. 

NSW Ambulance have said that the train did not use the brakes when it hit the barricade.

There are 17 NSW Ambulance resources responding, as well as three rescue helicopters.

According to 7 News, three people are trapped in carriage one.

The 10:11am train service from Richmond to Central has been cancelled.
