Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was left with multiple injuries during a violent gang assault at North Parramatta.
About 11.30pm last night, police were called to Teale Place at North Parramatta after numerous reports a man was being assaulted in the street.
By the time officers from Cumberland Police Area Command reached the scene and established a crime scene, the group had dispersed.
As police searched the area, a man attended Ryde Hospital with serious injuries a short time later.
It’s believed he was assaulted by a group of men, some armed with baseball bats, on Teale Street before being hit by a car.
The 22-year-old remains in hospital where he is being treated for multiple injuries, including broken ribs.
An investigation in to the incident is underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Investigators have been told the group involved are described as being of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean or Pacific Islander and Maori appearance.
