Anyone set for an afternoon commute on Sydney trains should be prepared for major delays following a power issue at Central station earlier today.
Lines affected include the T1 North Shore Northern and Western, T2 Inner West and Leppington, T3 Bankstown and T8 Airport and South services.
It is understood that the power issues were caused by a faulty cable inside a signal box.
This stopped trains running on the City Circle for 40 minutes from 12pm.
While services are back up and running, it is predicted that there will be widespread delays across the network.
Trains are also running out of sequence.
