Can Sydney's roads get any worse? Well according to business fleets the simple answer is - Yes!
93% of Sydney companies overwhelming believe congestion has worsened in the last year with nearly half spending, on average, an extra hour each day stuck in traffic.
The 10th annual NRMA Business Members survey of almost 1,100 businesses also finding 67% are using more fuel and 48% are spending more time doing laps looking for parking spots.
The survey also finding:
- 52% are allowing more travel time for deliveries or call outs
- Almost half (46%) are rescheduling meetings and appointments to avoid peak hour
- Almost one-fifth (19%) are changing operating hours
NRMA President Kyle Loades says congestion is a jobs and growth killer and the annual survey further supports the strategy of investing in motorways and public transport.
“Tackling Sydney’s congestion is an absolute priority if we want Sydney’s businesses to reach their potential and help drive the state’s economy, it’s why the NRMA fought so hard to get crucial congestion-busting projects like WestConnex and NorthConnex built,” Mr Loades said.
