Sydney Train Delays Impacting Services After Signal Failure

Commuters in Sydney are in for a tough trip home, with major delays on the rail network.

Trains have been halted by a signal failure at Central.

According to Trains Info, affected lines include the T1 T2 T3 and T8 services.

A fault with the Sydney Trains signalling system near Central Station caused some delays to services earlier this afternoon. A regular service is being provided now, however, some services on the, T1 North Shore, Northern & Western, T2 Inner West & Leppington and the T5 Cumberland Lines may be affected. We apologise to customers for any inconvenience and advise they check mobile travel apps, listen to announcements and check indicator boards for the latest updates.

- Sydney Trains spokesperson

Trains are now moving, but flow-on delays are expected.
