Commuters in Sydney's north are set for a rough trip to work with rail chaos on the cards.
A major train shut down is planned for stops on the Epping to Chatswood service.
It will close from mid-October for seven months as construction of the north-west metro train to Rouse Hill gets underway.
This means that the Metro train may be open to carry passengers from May of 2019.
There are just 120 buses on hand to help deal with the backlog of congestion for the full period.
