The man who died after crashing a car into a school bus in Sydney's northwest was being followed by police.
The fatal collision occurred just after 8am on Friday when the car crossed the intersection of The Driftway and Londonderry Road "without slowing", Acting Assistant Commissioner Jeff Philippi told reporters.
The car driver died at the scene. The uninjured bus driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing, while two of the 10 students on the bus were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
"Whether it's a pursuit or not will be a matter for the critical incident team, but it would appear that there was a traffic violation that led to the police to follow the vehicle," Mr Philippi said in Londonderry.
