Sydney is expected to cop a thunderstorm this afternoon, breaking a long dry spell with a cold front moving through NSW.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, it's likely that a thunderstorm will hit this afternoon or this evening, with winds ranging from 30 to 45 km/hr.
The western suburbs are likely to be hit with the cold front from the Blue Mountains.
We may be facing showers from Wednesday to the end of the week - a welcome break following Sydney's driest September.
