Waste has been dumped in a suburban area in Sydney's west, which is understood to contain hazardous material.
Police were called at 1am this morning after a mixed 10-tonne load of rubbish containing asbestos was found in Chester Hill.
Residents of Patricia Street reported hearing a bit of noise during the night, but thought nothing of it.
Fire crews also attended the scene, with two hazmat crews cordoning off the area.
Canterbury Bankstown Council is reportedly set to orchestrate the clean up today, with NSW Environment Protection Authority investigating the matter.
Police have appealed for anyone with dashcam footage of a tip truck in the area overnight to contact them.
