Two people have died in a light plane crash near Taree on the NSW mid-north coast.
The plane crashed in bushland north of Johns River on Saturday afternoon, police say, killing the only two people aboard.
Police are preparing a report for the coroner, while the Australian Transport Safety Bureau will undertake an investigation into the crash.
According to Nine News, the two-engine Cessna aircraft was reportedly travelling from Toowoomba to Taree when it crashed into trees.
Fire services were called to the scene at around 4pm to contain a small fuel leak.
