Two Men Accused Of Murdering A Homeless Man At Maroubra

Two men have been charged over the stabbing murder of a homeless man at Maroubra last month.

68-year-old retired bus driver Peter Hofmann was found stabbed to death in the car he had been living in on the 21st of June. 

Often referred to as 'Mr Lonely', he has been described as “a quiet, gentle man who would never hurt anyone”. 

The 18 and 20 year old men are now in police custody, expected to front court on Friday charged with numerous offences, including murder.

Peter Hofmann became homeless after being was living in his car after being scammed out of his life savings.

A post mortem concluded Mr Hofmann died as a result of multiple stab wounds.

Both men have been charged with murder and refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court tomorrow (Friday 28 July 2017).
